These skis are light, weighing in at 990 grams for a 192 cm ski. The light-weight is noticeable, especially in long races because it takes less energy to bring the ski forward on each stride. This is cleary noticeable when going uphill on steep courses. The camber is designed as a bridge that keeps the kick wax completely off the snow when half weighted and during the glide phase between kicks. When weighted the whole wax pocket comes in contact with the snow at once providing quick, strong kick. The carbon tip and tail make the swing weight super light.

Fischer uses different base material additives depending on the snow type the ski is intended for. The RCS Carbonlite Classic Plus ski has a base that is softer than the Cold base skis. It has a bit more carbon black in the base and the polyethylene molecular structure is more porous. This allows wax to easily penetrate and hold onto the base which enhances the glide. Fischer’s improved ultrafast DTG WC warm snow grinding structure, along with the pre-waxed bases makes these race boards fast right out of the box. The Fischer factory grinds are so well respected that some World Cup skiers often use the skis without getting a new stone grind.

The RCS Carbonlite skis are built with the Javelin shape, 41-44-44mm. This shape provides a stable platform for quick, strong kicks. The soft tips glide cleanly around corners in the track. This helps conserve skier energy and increase glide speed. Keep in mind more World Cup medals are won on Fischer than any other brand of skis.
