We need to wait for most racers to be off the course before we start the free kids race, so odds are we will be getting ready for it around 2:15 or so. There will 2 different races, one for the very little kids (a parent can easily run along side), and a separate course for the bigger kids which will be longer (mile+) and a little more challenging. All kids will receive a prize for finishing.

THE COURSE:
Same course as last year, give or take a small section or two. It is a good mix of singletrack and doubletrack and dirt roads. Lots of opportunities to pass, but still a lot of fun, flowy singletrack. It Is Central Oregon, so be prepared for a dusty course. The race starts with a ~2Mi Starter Loop (which is only Done Once, no matter how many laps you do), with a gradual dirt road climb for ~3/4 Of A Mile, Turns Onto Doubletrack, Then Singletrack. Once you go through the Start/Finish area, you go out on to the actual lap, which is about 11.5 miles. So to calculate your race distance - multiply 11.5 times the number of laps you are racing, then add 2 for the starter loop.

GETTING THERE:
The course Is located to the NW of Shevlin Park, In The Land that has been known as the Bull Springs Tree Farm, and is hopefully going to be known as Skyline Forest sometime soon. To Get There, Head West on Greenwood/Newport/Shevlin and go past Shevlin Park. At the top of the hill past the Park, take a left, and then follow the signs out to the course (it's a few miles down dirt roads, so don't bring the Ferrari If you don't have to).

Course Map - Marcel might be adding a new hill or something, but it is about the same as the last few years. Here's an old map, but it is still about the same.
