For those of you who don't know about Bend, Oregon, here is a little info. It's a small town of about 80,000 avid outdoor enthusiasts. We're right on the edge of the High Desert and the Cascade Mountains, so we've got plenty to do for just about everyone. We've got great mountain biking, road riding, paddling, climbing, skiing and snowboarding, etc. The place rocks! And unlike the rest of the Pacific Northwest, it doesn't rain all the time. Since we're on the edge of a desert, it's really dry and sunny. One of the only downsides to living in Bend is that everyone seems to be super fit. There are a ton of pro and former pro athletes that call Bend home. We’ve got pro cyclists like Ryan Trebon, Adam Craig, Carl Decker, Chris Sheppard, and Chris Horner. There are also a ton of nordic ski racers and former Olympians, including Gold Medalist Beckie Scott, her husband Justin Wadsworth, Ben Husaby, Patrick Weaver, Dan Simoneau, Rich Gross and more.
There are hundreds and hundreds of miles of awesome singletrack right out our back door, pretty good road riding, and a great cycling culture. Mt Bachelor Ski Resort is just 22 miles up the road from Bend. It has a Nordic center which boasts 56k of groomed Nordic trails, and there is plenty of skiing available at the local snowparks as well. If you are into Nordic skiing (or anything else outdoors), Bend would be a great place to check out.
